Writing a tag needs an Android phone with Chrome and NFC on. Nothing is written until you hold the tag to the phone. On iPhone the tap opens the card normally; writing a tag needs an Android phone or an NFC app. The card opens over secure HTTPS — that is what modern phones require for NFC and camera access.
